Work globally
The BA(AS) degree is recognised by the CAA, HKIA, ARB, and RIBA.
The course is developed around research-based learning in the design studio. You will develop an in-depth knowledge of the discipline, feel a sense of community with your peers, and exercise your creativity. Students will also be introduced to the contemporary themes and surrounding methodologies that shape architecture in Hong Kong and abroad, including territorial, social, technological, urban, and environmental issues.
As an architecture student, you will have the opportunity to participate in local, regional, and overseas learning and exchange, attend a leading international school of architecture for a semester, go on study trips to foundational sites of architecture and urbanism, and participate in hands-on field workshops during the summer.
The degree is recognised by the Commonwealth Association of Architects (CAA), the Hong Kong Institute of Architects (HKIA), the Architects Registration Board (ARB), and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). This means you can consider global opportunities in multiple markets after graduation.
The programme sets you up for a successful career in architectural design or any other area of interest. After graduation, you may choose to enter the two-year MArch programme at HKU or any other tertiary institution of your choice, for a professional qualification before registering as a practising architect.
