The Bachelor of Engineering Elite Programme aims to nurture talented and top-performing future engineering leaders for frontier technology developments. Students can freely choose a BEng degree programme to study, and the Faculty will assign special academic advisors and industrial mentors to guide them through study fields and connect them to the industries. Entrance and overseas exchange scholarships will be available. Students can also opt to join the Engineering (BEng X + MScEng AIE) scheme (6377).
The BEng in Civil Engineering programme is a comprehensive and versatile programme providing students with the academic qualifications towards the professional status of a civil engineer.
The main subject areas of studies included environmental engineering; geotechnical engineering; infrastructure project management; structural engineering; and transportation engineering.
The BEng curriculum of the EEE Department shapes BEng students through a core set of requirements and experiences, and yet also allows flexibility through choice of elective courses. Students will build solid foundations in CE, EE and ElecE through active learning, capstone experience, hands-on activities, internship, exchanges studies and service learning.
BENG(IELM) equips students with a blend of technical expertise, business knowledge, and forward-thinking skills, positioning them as future leaders in industries like manufacturing, service, logistics and finance. In addition to foundational knowledge in industrial engineering and logistics management, the programme provides students with knowledge in cutting-edge technologies like cyber-physical systems, Internet of things, robotics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. This will enable them to tackle complex challenges in various environments.
The programme covers a range of knowledge in mechanical engineering. Students can specialize in areas of interest such as aeronautical engineering, biomedical engineering, control and robotics, energy and environment, mechanics and materials, nanotechnology, product design and manufacture, and thermo-fluids. The programme enables students to develop solid foundations in mechanical engineering through active learning, capstone experience, hands-on activities, internship and exchanges studies. Graduates have excellent career prospects in industries and research.
Built upon a strong interdisciplinary foundation across basic sciences, mathematics, engineering and life sciences, this BEng(BME) programme covers a wide scope of modern BME disciplines and a variety of BME-related experiential learning opportunities. Such inclusive training allows students to learn how to apply engineering principles to advance biomedical practices and research; and to establish professional, ethical and social responsibilities on health-related issues.
The 4-year LLB programme combines fundamental legal concepts and subjects with a wider liberal arts education. The programme comprises a professional core and elective courses that allows students to declare a minor programme in a non-law area, or to obtain specialization in a specific area of law. Students will establish a solid foundation of legal knowledge and gain exposure to the broader context in which the law operates.
The BSc&LLB programme cultivates students’ legal and scientific mind sets.
Students will be equipped with academic and interdisciplinary knowledge and skills, via specially designed courses and capstone experiences in the programme, to solve novel and real-life scientific and legal problems.
